FBI Arrests 19-Year-Old Suspect in Boston Marathon Bombings
The FBI has arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings, law enforcement officials said Friday. The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody in Watertown, Massachusetts, after a dramatic manhunt that ended with a shootout.
The arrest came after a day of intense investigation that followed the twin explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday. The bombings killed three people and injured more than 170.
The suspect was identified using security camera footage and other evidence, law enforcement officials said. He is believed to be one of two brothers who allegedly carried out the attacks.
The FBI is continuing to investigate the bombings and is expected to release more information later Friday.
