Tornado Outbreak in Oklahoma Leaves Trail of Destruction

Four Dead, Thousands Without Power as Twisters Tear Through State

Deadly Tornadoes Cause Widespread Damage, Leave One Town Flattened

At least 16 tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma on Saturday, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. The twisters killed four people and left thousands without power.

The tornadoes struck a number of towns and cities across the state, including Sulphur, Holdenville, and Ardmore. In Sulphur, a tornado flattened several buildings, including a nursing home and a church. Three people were killed in the town.

In addition to the four deaths, the tornadoes caused widespread damage to homes and businesses. Thousands of people were left without power, and some were forced to evacuate their homes.

The Oklahoma governor has declared a state of emergency for 12 tornado-battered counties. The National Weather Service is continuing to investigate the tornadoes, and more details are expected to be released in the coming days.
